Monthly Meeting Preview for 12/13/2012

To all DPI-SIG members and other interested parties:

Please submit your theme photos by Tuesday, November 11, 2012, for inclusion in this month’s slideshow.  The theme for this month is: “Y E A R ‘ S E N D” . Members are eligible to submit 6 pictures or a 2 minute video to: dpi-theme.org. Please follow the guidelines on our web site listed below, to resize your photos. DO NOT SEND zipped files!

Damaris & Juan Gonzalez invite DPI-SIG members and a guest to a Holiday Social at their home on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at 191 2nd St NE, Naples 34120 (off Golden Gate Blvd.) starting at 3:00 p.m. – ??? Please bring a dish & drinks to share. Call Damaris for menu ideas: (239) 253-8900.

A special presentation will be given by Gordon Campbell showing how to “Escape from the Old Way of Presenting the Same Old Scenes”.

Harold Kurzman will award the ribbons to the winners of the DPI-SIG 3rd Tri-Annual Competition of 2012.

“Images That Speak” is the topic Larry Richardson plans to present, along with his usual witty self.

If you attended the Kowiachobee Outing on November 10, and want to donate your best photos for their fund raiser book, please bring your images on a DVD/CD and drop it off at the front table.

Deanna Deppen will again bring the 2013 Shy Wolf Sanctuary calendars to the meeting. Calendars are $10.00 each. Please bring cash or check to purchase the calendars. Many thanks to the members who donated their photographs to Shy Wolf Sanctuary for their fund raiser calendar.

As always, several door prizes will be available for our members and any new members who join at the meeting. 

Don’t forget to bring a dollar or two….. we request that you make a donation in the receptacle provided at the entry table to help offset the rental cost of the conference room. Many thanks to all who contribute each month.

Don’t toss those photography magazines or books! Bring them to the meeting for the “Free” table. If you are a member, you may also display photography items on the “For Sale” table.

DPI-SIG is a special interest group of the Naples Free-Net, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization providing education and internet services to over 4,000 registered members and the public at-large. The Naples Free-Net is totally run by volunteers and the only remaining Free-Net in the country.

DPI-SIG meetings are held, unless published otherwise, at 7 p.m. each second Thursday of the month at the Conference Center, Building J, of Edison State College, Lely Campus. Turn west onto Lely Cultural Drive, at the first traffic light south of Rattlesnake Hammock Road on Route 951 (Collier Blvd.).
