Outing May 7th at Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge
Subject: Prairie Orchid photo shoot:
We have been invited to join Larry Richardson to visit the Roger Roth Work Center to photograph orchids Larry the chief biologist at the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge has been propagating orchids for the past 11 years as a way of saving one of the most endangered mammals in the U.S.
Larry Richardson’s goal is to raise many thousands of these rare, picky, native plants and to spread them throughout South Florida’s natural lands — the adjacent Big Cypress National Preserve, Fakahatchee Strand, Picayune Strand, and Everglades National Park. But what does raising orchids have to do with saving the panthers?

The Larry Richardson Show will continue throughout the summer.
Naples Zoo photo shoot: In June Larry will led us through the Naples Zoo offering instruction on animal photography. Larry will promote this at our next meeting.
in August, Larry will host an outing for our club again to the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge: Larry is hoping to do this after a controlled burn so there will be lots of wild flowers.
Notices will be sent out as details are defined. Our thanks to Larry for offering these outstanding opportunities. He is a great asset to our club. If other outing opportunities surface during the summer, we will offer them in addition.
