August 2011 Meeting Preview

Our next meeting is this Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 7 p.m.

Please submit your theme photos by Tuesday, August 9, 2011, for inclusion in this month’s slideshow. The theme for this month is: “P R I M A R Y C O L O R S: R E D, B L U E, Y E L L O W”. Members are eligible to submit 6 pictures or a 2 minute video to: dpi-theme@naples.net. Please follow the guidelines on our web site below to resize your photos.

Eric Hansen will have a quick report on the FCCC Conference scheduled for March 2012.

“The Art of Photography” – Several of our members have photography on exhibit and for sale at the Art League of Marco Island until August 22, 2011. Please visit the Art league and support your DPI-SIG members! 1010 Winterberry Drive, Marco Island FL 34145. Nic Provenzo will have a report on the art show’s success!

Bill Coakley will be announcing a new online feature of DPI-SIG’s web site.

Jeff Bilyeau will have a short presentation on preparing images with FastStone software.

A Travel Photography presentation will be given by Damaris Gonzalez.

Several door prizes will be available for our members and any new member who joins at the meeting. We will have books available again this month.

Don’t forget to bring a dollar or two….. we request that you make a donation in the receptacle provided at the entry table to help offset the rental cost of the conference room. Many thanks to all who contribute each month.

DPI-SIG is a special interest group of the Naples Free-Net, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization providing education and internet services to over 4,000 registered members and the public at-large. The Naples Free-Net is totally run by volunteers and the only remaining Free-Net in the country.

DPI-SIG meetings are held, unless published otherwise, at 7 p.m. each second Thursday of the month at the Conference Center, Building J, of Edison State College, Lely Campus. Turn west onto Lely Cultural Drive, at the first traffic light south of Rattlesnake Hammock Road on Route 951 (Collier Blvd.).
