Golden Gate Community Park

3300 Santa Barbara Blvd

Collier County Parks and Recreation Department has sponsored Snowfest free to the public for 24 years. Snowfest is Collier County Parks & Recreation Department’s signature event. The event was established in 1985 with the concept of giving the community the thrill of getting to play in snow in 80-degree weather. Starting out with only 5 tons of snow and a few hundred people, the festival has grown to become Collier County’s largest community even, attracting over 15,000 people.

The event has many attractions, but the leading attraction is the 70 tons of snow. 900 blocks of ice are trucked in and put through an ice chipper, which is magically transformed into snow. Other attractions include a powder park toboggan hills, ice skating rink, a full scale carnival, entertainment, hands on arts & crafts, petting zoo, pony rides and craft and food vendors.

If you would like to join in on the FUN and take some pictures that you can share with your Northern Friends and Family or enter into December’s Theme show, reply to this email with your name and email address.

The Goldengate Community park is at the corner of Santa Barbara and 32 St SW. We will meet at the entrance at 9:45 for our traditional OGP. Snowfest opening is at 10am. Entrance fee is $1.00.
