DPI-SIG Members in good standing are invited to participate in DPI-SIG photo competitions. These are local competitions within the DPI-SIG itself as distinguished from F3C competitions.
Competitions are announced to members by email by Harold Kurzman, DPI-SIG Club Competition Director

DPI-SIG Photo Competition Guidelines
Submit entries to:
Entry Rules:
1. Only members in good standing with DPI-SIG may compete.
2. Only images made within five (5) years prior to the date of competition are eligible.
3. All images must be the work of the maker.
4. Images which have won in a previous DPI-SIG Club competition may not be entered
5. Only members of DPI-SIG in good standing may participate
Competition Classes:
A: Advanced amateurs or professionals (Class “A”)
B: Beginning amateurs: (Class “B”)
The criteria for moving from Class B to class A are:
1. Winning any award in an end of year competition
and/or
2. Three more award ribbons in the 3 Tri-annual competitions
Competition Divisions
There are two divisions for competition: Color and Monochrome
Each class / division will be judged separately
A member may enter four(4) images in any combination of Color and Monochrome

There will be a single judge for each competition.

Three Easy Steps for entering
1. Make the computer file name of each of your images as follows:
The name of the image in CAPITAL LETTERS
followed by a space
followed by your name (as maker) in upper and lower case
followed by a dot
followed by the letters “jpg”
Example of correct entry: FRESH TULIPS by John Doe.jpg
( Format your entry like this one )
Note: JPG is the only type of digital image that is acceptable
(not BMP, GIF,TIFF, CR2, NEF, etc.)
2. Resize your photos (using your photo editor or similar software*)
– Resize the image to fit 1024 pixels wide and 768 pixels high
– Horizontal side no larger than 1024 pixels and vertical side no larger than 768 pixels
- No adjustment of DPI (dots per inch) resolution of photos necessary
- NOTE: Each properly resized image will be approximately 1/2 MB (megabyte)
3. Email your images as E-mail attachments to: dpi-compete@naples.net
Include in the body of the e-mail:
- Name of maker: your first and last name
– Photo title (of each image)
– Class: A (Advanced) or B (Beginner)
– Division: Color or Mono
- The number of images entered
* Examples are: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Elements, Adobe Lightroom,
Faststone Image Viewer, etc:

DPI-SIG Club Competition Notices and Schedule
The Club offers competitions to its members four times a year. The fourth competition consists of the images awarded honors during the first three competitions. For the year-end completion, all members who won honors in the first three automatically participate.
Only DPI-SIG members in good standing may enter images. Members will be notified by email announcement of the competitions. Current schedule (as of 3/10/2012):
